DACA Youth Group visited Waterford Senior Center

Youth Group visited Waterford Senior Center recently. The youth performed Tai Chi fan, and demonstrated Kung Fu for the seniors. The teens prepared Chinese Knots and passed red-envelopes during the visit to share the joy of the Chinese New Year with residents at the senior center.

Our next event will be participating Frank Nicholas Elementary’s World Culture Fair on 3/24.

DACA Youth Group is open to all high school students in the Greater Dayton Area, and we are always excited to see new faces. Our mission is to provide our youth with opportunities to promote Chinese culture, instill an ethic of community service, and encourage life-long friendships, all while having fun! Enroll/Renew your Choice of DACA in the Kroger Community Rewards Program

Every Year Starting in April!!!

DACA is enrolled in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. If you are a Kroger Plus cardholder, please register and select DACA as your choice. DACA will receive 1.5-2.0% rewards of your every purchase from Kroger and use this fund to better serve our DACA members. (It does not incur any extra cost or have any impact on your Kroger fuel point or credit)

  • Register free. Visit https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards, create an account or sign in with your email and password;
  • Go to “View your Rewards Details”; Scroll down to “Community Rewards”;
  • Click Edit, type in the number 83354 and select the name “Dayton Association of Chinese Americans”, click “Enroll”;

Youth Outstanding Service Award

DACA has decided from this year on to award volunteer certificates to high school juniors and seniors who have actively participated in DACA activities for at least 2 years and have completed at least 10 hours of service. Students should apply first, then will be approved by DACA board directors. The application should include applicant’s information, summary of your volunteer activities, hours, and a name of someone who can prove the above information.
DACA will present the first group of senior recipients with their certificates on the Chinese New Year Show on February 21and the other recipients will be awarded on our fall picnic. To apply for this award, please contact yuhongv@aliyun.com
